Esther Napoleon entertained three of her friends with some pretty music on the piano last Sunday afternoon. The first game of baseball was played last Saturday between the big Z's and the Amatears', in which the Amateurs were victorious. J. S. Martha LeClair is busily engaged, making a tailored suit to be, exhibited at the Seattle fair, after which she will resume her work at the hospital. L. H. Although the Nonpariel: society was defeated in the debate last Monday night they feel that it was worth the effort. 'Tis better to fall in the battle than to run from it. V.C. Jesse Spencer of Toppenish, Wash., is visiting his sisters for a short time; He is on his way to SanFrancisco, where he will stop off and visit his brother, Lester, who is going to Honolulu in April.-WF We all wish Dennis Harnden good luck tomorrow night in the wrestling match with Bridge, the Bellingjiam man. Dennis has been training his wrestlers very faithfully and we look for a good time during 'the preliminary wrestling. David Graham is training Dennis Harnden for his wrestling match on the thirteenth of march. Mr. Harnden also runs five miles every morning before breakfast to give him an appetite and also to lessen his waight. T. C. Perhaps one of the deepest subjects that ever has been debated here in Chemawa between two societies is the one that is going to be debated on the 18th of this month. The question, "Re solved, That the Monroe Doctrine should be continued as a permanent foreign policy of the United States." This is going to be a very interesting de bate as well as instructive. '1 he Non pariels have the affirmative side of the question and are" represented by Levi Sortor, Ralph Allen and Calvin Darnell against Fortunato Jayme, Robert Cam eron and Thos. McCully. Both sides are confident of victory. Sortor is an old debater, having been on the debat ing team for about nine years now and with his able colleagues, he predicts to win this debate without a question. The Excelsiors say that they are from , "Missouri." H. J.
