New pupils continue to arrive at
Chemawa.
And now we will get busy doing work
for the Alaskan-Yukon-Exposition.
Teachers meeting was held on Monday
evening in Mrs. Campbell's school room,
The Senior and Juniors held a meet
ing on Friday afternoon to make ar
rangements for their annual Valentine
party which will be held on the fifteenth
this year, as Valentine!s Day will be on
Sunday.
The monthly entertainment held in
the chapel on Monday evening was very
creditable. The clarinet solo by Alex
Cajete, the monologue by Christine Bos
well and the thacbw pictures by the
eighth grade were particularly enjoyed,
Boys and girls, after you learn the
patriotic songs you have been practicing
every month this year, sing them, do not
yell them as some of you did "Columbia
the Gem of the Ocean" on Monday night.
A well sung chorus is beautiful, but a
patriotic song which is howled is quite
the reverse,
MONTHLY ENTERTAINMENT.
Owing to ccnflicting dates for various
things the regular monthly entertain
ment for January was not given by the
pupils of the school until Monday even
ing, February 1st. These entertainments
are of undoubted value to all who take
part in them and( afford an evening of
pleasure and , instruction to the entire'
student body. The following program
was given in a manner which was a credit

BAND CONCERT.
The Chemawa Band of gome twenty
odd piece?, under the direction of Mr.
Charles E, Lareen, gave a concert in
Chapel last Saturday evening which
was a treat musically and certainly re
flected credit on Mr. Larsen and his
bandmen. The program which follow
