Mr. Brown is still busy drilling the
new well.
The pupils are enjoying the basket,
ball games.
The girls' basketball team received a
new ball this week.
Fred Choquette is now -fireman for
the school building.
The Junior Class are having their
examination this week.
Raymond Ready is now a 'sweeper at
the small boys' home.
The Mitchell Hall boys are all glad
they will soon move in again.
Roy Wilson and Roy Mclrityre are
the wood haulers at the wood shed.
The fittings for the large pump have
arrived and will be connected soon.
The Carpenters are nearly done put
ting the picture molding up in Mitchell
Hall.

Jones, put radiators in Mitchell Hall this
week.
Katie and Oo-beU Underwoo.l spent
their Christmas in Ponlau 1 wit a their
sister,
John Brown and Fred Acosta are the
wood haulers this week for John Shakley,
the fireman.
Mary Gregory is learning fast how to
cook and she like- her place of wo. k at
the Teachers' Club. .

ty green dress for Lela Jackson. Matil
da is one of our neatest dressmakers at
Chemawa.
During last week Elmer Sorahan
could be seen at any hour of the day in
his room studying for the quarterly ex
amination. During the cold nights Mr. Westley
appointed two boys to sit in the root
house and keep a good warm fire to keep
the potatoes from freezing.
The boys of the senior class were
working at the wood shed yesterday
afternoon, there being no school for them
on account of Mrs. Campbell going to
Portland.
The following were the games play
ed in the basketball league this week:
On January 3, Harnessmakers against
Dairy boys; Harnessmakers won by a
score of 19 to 10. Tailors against Car
penters; Tailors won, score 19 to 18
Januaiy 4, Blacksmiths 23, vs. Garden
ers 9; Brewer Hall 50 vs. Farmers 6.
The cooks and the Brewer Hall house
keepers have just been admitted in the
league.
