eleven that has played on Multnomah
field this season. Every man was in
every play.

Outplayed at a)l stages of a gruelling
game, the Catholic Young Men's Club
yesterday afternoon went, down to defeat
at the hands of the Chemawa Indian
school, 21 to 0. The Catholics were out
played from st i rt to finish and were on
the defensive most of the time. There
was no stopping the rushes of Chemawa 's
big tack les and her fullback, nor the end
and tackle runs of Sortor and Graham.
Time and again Dillstrom and Burke,
the tackles and Queahpalma, the fullback,
went ripping through the Catholic line
for long gains, often much over the 10
yard- required to make first down.
For the Catholic eleven there is little
that can be said. They were simply out
played. There was not a man on the
team whose position was not vulnerable
to the attack thrown at it by the Indian
aggregation, and although there were
times when they seemed to brace and
hold the Indians, another time they
would lose this advantage and their po
sition' would be pierced or in the case of
ends, circled for large and consecutive
gains. On offense they lacked the con
centration which characterized - their
play against Multnomah last week.
The splendid interference given by the
backs against Multnomah was lacking.
The Chemawa team showed what was
probably the bet team work of any
eleven that has played on Multnomah
field this season. Every man was in
every plav and in this they especially
outclassed the Catholic boys. It was
not at all uncommon to see a Catholic
back watching his teammates try to
make gains without any interference or
help.
One man who especially starred on
the Chemawa team was Smith, the big
center, formerly of " Carlisle. Smith is
