MR. TEABO'S LECTURE.
The industrial lecture Monday even
ing was delivered by Mr. J. M. Teaboon
the subject of ''baking.' He . spoke of
the difference of methods used in the
liking at home in the stove ovens, and
that used by bakeries, stating that 100
loaves can be handled in the bakery as
msy as two by-home baking.
The Chemawa bakery turns out 3,000
loaves a week. Mr. Teabo will have 1,000 -loaves
on hand for Chiistmas.
He said that it was very essential that
hoys should learn the baker's trade, and
that the ladies understand more about
slicing and preparing of bread and
cakes for the table. They should be cut
into dainty transparent pieces; also how
to place it on the plate He called atten
lion to the kind of clothes bakers should
wear and the great importance of being
neat and clean He spoke of the differ
ent grades of flour and the many ways
of making pastry.
He explained how the oven is operat
ed and how the bread is placed in- the
oven and removed by the teel. Mr. Teal-;
ho closed his interesting lecture by tell
ing how the 600 pou nds of Turkey was'
roasted for the Christmas dinner.

In this land of unchanging summer, it
is hard to realize that Christmas is at
hand. I wish you and the other kind
friends; at Chemawa who remembered
me so kindly might know how much com
fort end pleasure you gave to my home
hungry heart.

style native work fast being superceded
bythe more durable chino and "improv
ed" fabric and modern needle work. I
hope it -will interest you as such
