The porch of the new gymnasium is
finished.
Lorrette Tillier is making a drawing
board for Ralph Allen. .
James Smith U making meat boards
for the mess kitchen.
The detail has changed at the laundry,
kitchen, dining and sewing rooms.
The five sewing machines in the de
partment No. 1 are always in use.
Paul Queahpalmais making wrenches
for the different hydrants on the grounds.
James Minesinger and Albert James
are running the wood car at the power
house.
The carpenters are putting. balustrades
around the gailery in the new gym
nasium. Walter Miller and Thomas Andrews
are the firemen in the power house in
the forenoons.
The uniform dresses for the McBride
Hall girls are .finished. Tne material
used is blue serge.
The stove in the sewing room is a
grent friend of the girls during the cold
weather that is now with us.
Lilly Braden, Ethel Wilson and Elma
Eads are the girls who-prepare the food
for the football boys this week.
Mr. Westley has 1,000 seedling cherry
trees which the boys are going to top
graft and set out in the spring.
William Major and Paul Queahpalma
repaired a plow for Mr. Westley and re
ceived some fine apples for their services.
The curtains made by the tailors for
the new Sanitarium are being put in
place by James Smith and Lorretto
Tillier.
The laundry girls have just completed
the hard task of doing up window curtains
for the small boys' home, Brewer Hall and
McBride Hall.
The gardeners are breaking ground
back of the school building where four
acres of strawberries and two acres of
Loganberries are to be set out.
Manuel Swanson, Dennie Harnden,
Roderick Mnrchinson, Elmer Plucks
and Philip Moss are on the repair
detail at the engineering department.
The dressmakers are kept busy mak
ing girls uniforms. They have fifteen
more suits to make before they start
making the white Indian head waists.
The laundry girls deserve much credit
for the neat work they do on the private
shirts that-are sent to the laundry every
week. The hoys appreciate the interest
that is taken and are willing to return
the favors by repairing shoes, making
picture frames or other work that can he
done in the shop.-.
LOCALS
Miss Irene Campbell went to Salem
on the 10:40 train last Monday.
Mrs. N. J. Campdell mad a special
trip to Portland last Monday on school
business. '
Mr. Cjoper, Henrv and Joseph Dill
strom attend(d the Dairy Convention
in Salem last Thursday and Friday.
They also attended the uLion and Mouse'
show Thursday evening.
