admitted last week.
iMr. M. W. Cooper was called away
last Saturday to Carlton, Oregon, where
death had claimed his aunt, Mrs. Annie
Moore. Mr. Bo wen took charge of the
dairy during Mr. Cooper's absence.
Mr. Charles Dillstrom from Yreka,
Calif., has been visiting his children for
several days. He went to Rosebury on
the 10:40 train Monday. After a short
stay there he will return to Yreka.
Last Saturday evening a social gather
ing took place in the new gymnasium
The band furnished the music for the
grand matches. Assistant Supt. Camp
hell acted as floor manager. The march
ing was much improve over what it
has been in the past. Mr. and Mrs.
Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Fickle led the
marches and all took part in making
the evening one of enjoyment and mer
ry-niaking. :
Several of the boys who had their hair
cut "college style" are staying out of the
sociables and persuading their friends
rot to go by making them an offer like
this: The first one who goes to a social
gathering before Christmas must buy pie
forthegan. Of course the ''college clip'
will be long enough to part by Christ
mas and the young men can again attend
the sociables. They now spend Friday
evenings out at "Old Chemawa."
