Do We W ant, The
Law Enforced?
That Americans are awakening to the
panctity of law is everywhere manifest.
That we know the value of law-enforcement
we have learned in the expensive
school of experience. For years, we Pat by.
and watched law breakers, big and little,
wink the other eye and disregard the
law. We saw both the smooth, dressed
u p, and the rough, redshirted anarchists
trampling the law under foot. But an
enraged public sentiment has arisen to
bruise the head of outlawry with its
heel. No longer can we look with in
difference and inaction upon the law
breaker, And it is well. We have
learned that the law of the land is our
bulwark of defence. By law in our
democracy we live and mt ve and have
our being. By law, life is enhanced
und the pursuit of happiness is assured.
The officer who is sworn to enforce the
law and sleeps at his post endangers
our welfare. The officer who will swear
allegiance to the law and who will set

CHEMAWA SECOND VS. JUNCTION
CITY SCOtlK 36 TO 0.
Chemawa's Second added another
victory to our string by defeating the
Junction City High last Saturday by a
score of 36 to 0.
The Junction City boys were out
classed, but still they played a quiek,
snappy game. Our second never played
a better game. They bucked the line,
ran the ends and used the quarter-back
kick and delayed pass for gains time
and again. There was a lack of fumbling
by both sides, as the field was dry and
the weather ideal.
The game opened by our boys kicking
off to Junction, who immediately started
to buck the line for gains. After ad
vancing the ball about thirty yards,
Whitney of Junction got away for a 50
yard run and landed the ball on the
15-yard line. Then Chemawa held and
took the ball on downs. From that
time on it was only a question as to
how big the score would be. Clark soon
made a pretty field goal and before
the half ended "Rink" was pushed over
for a touchdown and Lf wis kicked goal,
making the score 10 to 0.
