Ruth Brewer is taking music lessons
in Salem.
Mr. Stoudenmeyer was out from Sa
kn, Tuesday.
Mr. Cooper made a flying trip to Eu
gpne, Saturday.
Mr. Watkins has taken apartments in -the
"Swartz Mansion."
Mrs and Miss Royer went to Salem
Saturday on -business. '
Albert Garry returned ti school Mon
day after a three month's vacation.
Mrs. Scott of Portland, daughter of
Mr. Swartz, paid Ohemawa a visit Satur
day. Philip Sorahan, Tracey Hatch and
William Ingram were visitors from Salem'
Sunday.
Misses Nora and Rena Mann gave a
birthday dinner Sunday and invited a
number of their friends.
John Bullard, the son of Mrs. Bullard
the nure, left Sundav for Corvallis to
resume his studies at O.A.C.
Mrs. Mann is kept very busv making
pennants and arm bands to supply the
demands of the many who order them.
Albert Garrv's bass voice adds very
milch to the singing of the Senior class,
fie is one of , the best singers Chemawa
ever had.
Albert Garry returned from Mills,
Washington bringing with him. Willie
Flett, John Morrell, and Flex Isador,
who were admitted.
Quite a number of Chemawa people
attended the Maud Powell concert in
Saiem on Monday night Miss Powell
is one of the most famous violinists in
the world.

I work in the harness shop and I
like it very well. I like the school very

Alex Covington bought a piece of
goods and got an order from the office to
make himself a suit. A. C.
The farmers are glad to have Henry
Shaw working on the farm detail because
he is a good football player. G. J. W.
Three girls in the Senior and Junior
classes take more interest in cleaning
their finger nails than in their studies.

We were all sorry to hear that Misr
Skipton has blood poison in her hand,
but are glad to learn that it is getting

The seniors were very proud of Fred
Lewis when he played football last Sat
urday. He surely did some fine playing.

Mr. Westley's lecture was very benefi
cial to all interested in fruit growing
and many important things were learn
ed from what he said. J. D.
Dollie Case and Ella Brewer received
a very pretty pennant each from mem
bers of the C. Y. JVl. C. boys from Port
land and are proud of them. V.' B.
Joe Dillstrom is kept busy keeping
the clock of the senior class on the right
time. A new clock would make a fine

Mr. and Mrs. Hirchman of Haines,
Alaska, arrived here on Thanksgiving
Day and spent the rest of the week visit
ing their children, William and Mary
