Sojne of the boys, and girls had a very
pleasant trip to Forest Grove with the
football team last Friday. They had a
fine time while over, there. A,
Mrs. Brewer is a good cook and is
working very hard for Thankgiving,'and
we know we will have a good time in the

smith shop lately .are learning very

We are all sorry to see Dollie Case in
the hospital, with a sprained ankle.
The doubly bass was missed ; very m n ch

OUR NEW GYMNASIUM.7 U
The cut of the old barn which' lias
hen remodeled; into a gymnasium is
given ip this issue. It has been entirely
rebuilt" and' has been moved to a new lo
cation, south of the industrial shops. It
has been remodeled both inside and out,
po that it is a handsome structure, and
has one of the j.)?est floors in the -North-; t
west. j. '.
The building is one hundred bv sixtv
feet; has an eight end running track,
suspended from the roof equipped with
a platform in one end. Has both a dress
ing room and bath in the basement.
It is steam heated arid has a very
complete system of electric lighting.
The basketball floor has been laid out
according to regulations seventy by fifty
feet. Here will be enjoyed some of the
best basketball contests of the North
west. ' ' -
LOCALS
Capt. Eli gave a very interesting
lecture in chapel Tuesday 'evening.
The Y. M. C. A. had a .very interesting
' meeting last Wednesday evening.
The Mandolin Club is going to give a
public concert in the hear future. 1
Michel Wilson entertained a number
of girls and boys with his phonograph last
Sunday afternoon at McBride Hall;
Word has been received from Lillie
Stensgar that she and her brothers will
soon return to Chemawa. ' i ; ; - - ;
The c'ars on the electric line from'
Portland to Salem have changed time. 1
There are more cars on now, making 16
trips, 8 each way. :
Mabel and Cora Picard's mother came
from St. Paul to visit them. She stayed
all night and was much pleased with
the school.
Harry Queachpalma and Walter Mil
ler, returned students, are playing bari
tones in the band and Cyril Morrisette is
playing the slide trombone, .
Edward Stensgar returned to Che-,
mawa this week bringing with him his
sister, Alice. , Edward has been trying to
come back to Chemawa j and r bring his
sister since the first of October,; but his
Agency was out of transportation funds,
and he remained on the waiting list.
Finally getting tired of waiting, he paid
his sister's fare to the school in order
not to lose any more time.
