. Young Men's Christian Association
reorganized Wednesday evening. Walter
Haight was chosen for temporary presi
dent until Mr. Williams returns. Mr,
Haight gave a few encouraging remarks
expressing his desire to see all take inter
est in the good work that the Y. M. 0. A.
stands for, and bring in new faces and
help build up a large association. Sev
eral pupils became members. Loulin
Brewer lead in prayer.
Nonpareil. '
The Nonpareils met in school room No.
9 last Thursday evening for the first
meeting this term. The house was
called to order by Vice-President Fred
Lewis, and the roll was called. The min
utes of the last meeting were read and
stood approved. As the time of the
presiding officers was up it was then
decided, to elect officers, which resulted
as follows: President, Calvin Darnell;
Secretary, Dollie Case; Vice-President,
Fred Lewis; Sergeant-at-arms. Orin
French; assistant Sergeant-ai-arms, Levi
Sortor; Treasurer, Oscar Case; Reporter,
Henry Darnell. Fifteen new members
were enrolled We then had x some
music from a phonograph, after which
we adjourned.

The members of the Y. W. C. A. held
their regular meeting in the school
Chapel last Wednesday evening. The
roll was. first called and, the minutes of
the previous meeting read. A number
of pupils who wished to join were enroll
ed. A song was sung entitled, uFar
out on the Desolate Billows." This being
the second meeting . held since the
beginning of the school- term there was
plently of business to be transacted,
i 'he' officers elected for the ensuing year
were as follows: President, Ella Brewer;
Vice-President, Bell Dillstrom; Treasur
er, Martha Decker; Sergeant-at-arms,
Dollie Case; Reporter, Helen Dillstrom,
The committees were appointed by the
president and secretary. Another son
was sung, "Stand up for Jesus." Mrs,
Chalcraft then spoke a few interesting
words and made some plans tor the
vear's work. We then had a season of
prayer. The closing song was sung,
"God be With You Till We Meet Again."
We then repeated our watch vvoid and
adjourned,
E-xcelsiors
The Excelsiors met in their old meet
ing room last Thursday evening. The
meeting was the first of the season and
was well attended. Many new names
were added to the roll Miss, Berner
and Mr. Dillstrom conducted the meet
ing which consisted of business. Two
officers were elected, Joe Dillstrpni, vice-;
president and David iraham sergeant at
arms. Mr. Wilson , gave a number of
selections on his graphophone which were
well received. Mr Larsen gave a few
encouraging rcmarks'at the close of the
meeting. ' The interest taken by all
present and management of Mr. Larsen
indicates an enjoyable and successful
year for the Excelsiors,; .
Mrs. Campbell complimented the t vw'm
boys, who took pnrt in last Saturday's
football game against 'Oregon V second
team at Chemawa. ,
, The employes who attended the ame
on Saturday were as enthuseastie as the
pupils. We like to see employes at the
games. It shows the proper school spirit,
