Ralph Allen has returned to school
again.
The small boys are planning a Hallo

Mr. H. Mann went to Portland on
business last week.
Mrs Fickle's detail is making table
covers for Brewer Hall,
Miss Carter from Wood burn was visit
ing Miss Woods Sunday.
Mr. Westley's boys are digging 100
bushels of potatoes every day.
The gardeners are sowing the orchards
with vetch for fertilizing purposes.
Mr. Westley is well liked by the. laun
dry girls, because he is. so liberal with
the apples,
'1 he little white cat at the small bovs'
home is doing good work with the rats
and mice.
Miss Steponeck has moved into her
new room and likos it much better than
the old one.
Mr, Van Winkle, of Willamette
Medical College, was a visitor at Che
mawa Sunday.
Mrs. Newcomb and daughter have
had their house keeping supplies moved
out from Salem.

pocket knives used for ripping purposes.

Lee and Edward Evans and Archie
Lane returned from Siletz last Friday.
Mr. Fickle has moved into the house
keeping rooms down in the south cottage.
Mr. and Mrs. Keeler from Montana
are visiting their children. They are
much pleased with the management of
the school and intend leaving their
little daughter when they depart for
home.
The Mandolin Club wa made happy
by the purchase of several violins and
mandolins to add to .the instrumentation
of the Cluk The Club has become quite
a musical feature of the school and under
Mr. Turney's able instruction will soon
be in the front: rank.
In another column we gave an article
'Not.es from -hemawa," by Superin
tendent Chtrles W. Goodman of,
Phoenix. Superintendent Goodman .re
cently visited Chemawa and his
friends here were very glad to greet him
and hope he may soon find occasion for
another visit.
MUSIC NOTES
The choir was reorganized on Tuesday
night,
Juanita Reyes is busy studying musio
every evening.
Christina Victor says she is interested
in her music lessons.
Dollie Case will play the Double Bass
in the. Mandolin Club this year and she
is doing well.
Miss Campbell is a very nice music
teacher. We all enjoy taking musio
lessons from her.
Violet Edwards has joined the Man
dolin Club and took her first lesson on
Monday evening. We all wish her
success,
The members of the mandolin Club
are very enthusiastic.this year. Under
the direction of Mr. Turney we are sure
they will do excellent work.
