SOME NEW PUPILS
James Olney returned for the open
ing of school.
Frank, Annie and Neva Souvigner
came in last Sunday.
Violet Berner and Pearl Picard came
in from Adams Oregon.
David Billing's friends were glad to
see him return to school.
; Mr. William Towner arrived from
Siletz with his Hons Louis, El wood and
Gilbert.
Arthur Bell and Buford Spencer re
turned from Siletz with 'Elmer and
Tom mv Reed.
George Horn returned with his sister
Addie and brother Louis, and Edward
Alfred last week,
Emma Havaird, Clara Guyette and
Martha Alfaro were admitted from
Yakima Reservation.
Alvina, Albert, John, Louis and Mable
Rainville arrived from Adams, Oregon,
the early part of this week.
Dennis Harnden's sister? were glad
to see him when he arrived the other
day to take an engineering course at the
school.
Among the pupils coming from Had
lock, Wash., were William and Lyall
Woodley, Raymond Johnson, Chester
Williams, Dora, Ruth and Roy Clawseh.
The Rev. Edward J. Conner passed
through Chemawa, en route to the
Synod Meeting at Ashland, Oregon, and
stopped long enough to leave his
two boys, Gilbert and Cyrus, togeth
er with Dan Kashkash and Nat Harsche,

FOOT-BALL
The prospects for a good team grows
brighter ever day. More interest is be
ing shown than has been shown for many
a year, with a number of second year
men and a good number of new men
trying for places there is considerable
( rivalry good friendly rivalry. Among
the last year men we have Smoker,
Graham, Sortor, Burke, Wilson, and
Minesinger; from last year's second team
we have Major, Gregory, Meadows,
Scott, Anderson and Bateman, and the
new men who are doing good work are
Walton, Dillstrom, Francis Davis, Sam
uels, Geoige, Matthews, Covington,
Bain, French, Mason, Pellitier and La
Chapelle. Joe Charles of last year's
second team is also making good.
This year games will be arranged
with such teams as Albany College,
Pacific University, South Portland Ath
letic Club, Albina Athletic Club, Bunk
er Hill Athletic Club, Whitworth Col
lege and others.
At a meeting held Wednesday evening
by the bovs it was decided to engage a
coach and Mr. Philbrook, late of Whit
man College, Washington, was mention
ed as a likely candidate. Mr. Philbrook
played tackle on his. college team .and
