Baseball fans are looking forward to
some of the hottest baseball games dur
ing the Cherry Fair ever seen in Salem
There will be a series of games oil
Thursday, Friday and Saturday, between
Albany and Chemawa, .and Salem Tri
City league team and the Fairrriounts.
Once upon a time Albany defeated
Chemawa and the Indians have always
had a sneaking notion that the result
was brought about by a fluke. There
fore these two teams will fight for every
inch and the games will be cracker jacks.
On Thursday Chemawa will, play Al
bany. On Friday, the Tri-City league team
will play the Fairmounts. This game
by the way will be a dandy. The Fair
mounts have always been convinced
that if they had a fair chance they could
wipe up the earth with the Tri-City
twirlers and this will be the opening
they have long desired.
On Saturday, the winners of the
games on the - preceding days will play
for the championship of the series.
The team that wins the series will
be awarded a magnificent silver cup
that will be fit to grace the den of the
most famous baseball magnate in the
country. -Statesman.
