Bart Voutrin is now working in the
garden.
The gardeners are very busy at work
this week.
Emily Moss is now working in the
dining hall.
Henry F lemming is now one of Mrs.
Newcomb's sweepers.
Amos Smoker and Frank Souvigner
are, now working on the farm.
M r. Smith and a num ber of boys clean
ed the yard on Monday afternoon.
The farmers started to cut the hay at
the lower farm Tuesday morning.
The dairymen and farmers are through
cutting vetch, having filled both silos.
Mr. Westley took a number of school
boys to pick peas last Monday morning.
Mr. Venter and his boys were putting
up window blinds in the school building
Monday.
Mr. Swartz now has a large force yof
hay-makers, both in the morning and
after noon.
The girls of the large sewing room
have nearly all the dresses made for
commencement.
Haynes Bateman was repairing a pair
o shoes for Gussie Cameron last Wed
nesday morning.
Mary Campbell has hemstitched her
self a very pretty handkerchief. She
has also made a neat dress for Lizzie
Dahl.
The farmers finished cutting hay
at the lake last Thursday morning.
For the last two days they have been
working at the Claggett farm.
The baker boys reported having turn
ed out 800 loaves daily lateh
New braces were recently being put
on the one horse lawn mower.
On Thursday morning Martin Samp
son made handles for the scraper.
Bessie Williams is one of the best
waitresses they have in the dining hall.
Leonora Rainville is working in the din
ing hall. She likes the work very much.
Allah Madison is one of the dining
hall girls this wf-ek; She is a dish
washer.
Henry Franklin is one of the painter
boys. We hope he will thoroughly
learn his trade.
Johnnie Darnell jigged for some cher
ries in front of the office last Wednes
day. He did fine.
Last Wednesday when Ida Johnson
was in Salem Lily Stensgar acted as
dining hail sergeant.
Barney Vincent and Edward Berner
are still busy cutting hay. These two
are quite industrious.
Last Thursday morning Orin French
shod Mr. Westley's horse. Orin is busy
the most part of the time. '
Movable fountains were being placed
on different parts of the campus to keep
the lawns in continual growth.
Milton George and Harry Covington
were putting a ceiling on. the front porch
in the new gymnasium Tuesday.
Haynes Bateman repaired David Gra
ham's baseball shoes before the team
went to play in the Salem Cherry Fair
yesterday morning.
A number of boys were digging a ditch
and laying water pipes for the pur
pose of sprinkling the ball ground
Wednesday afternoon.
