Lewis Sanderson, who has been in the
hospital for, three weeks, is up and

Jennie Rosenberger is making Annie

arrived Sunday from Parkland, Wash
ington and was admitted.
Frank Ward, after being away for
ah out five years,-returned .to Chemawa,
Saturday from Rainier, Oregon.
The; appearance of the S. P; Depot has
been improved by the carload of granite
sand- lately placed around the building.
Messrs. Bowen, industrial teacher,
Woodin, the painter, and - Venter, the
harness maker, spent Saturday afternoon
in the Capital City.
According to the theory of the boys of
the fifth and sixth grades, they are
entitled to a picnic because of the work
they have done in the hay.
Miss Irene Campbell has gone to Port
land to take part in the Irvington Tennis
Tournament. Som of the most promin
ent tennis players on the Pacific Coast
will play.
The Chemawa Indian Schcol band
gave a sacred concert at 4 o'clock. This
organization ..has become part and par
cel of the Chautauqua at Gladstone, and
its"p7irt of life entertainment this year is

school room.

New window shades have been put. up
in all the school rooms. They are a
great . improvement to, the building.
; The students enjoyed the talk last Sun
day evening very much a nd we hope
that the minister will come again.
Great preparations are being made for
the Commencement exercises' this year,
and the students who are to take part
in it are practicing very hard to have it
better than it has ever been before.
'Miss Royer has a bouquet of nastur
tiums which was picked from the seventh
and eighth grades' gardens. The
pansies and roses are blooming nicely.
Their geraniums are also growing nicely.
