INDUSTRIAL NOTES
The gymnasium is being floored this
week. ; -
The painters started painting the wood
shed on Tuesday. -
The engineers are putting in a switch
board at the, power house.
The gardeners have been busy right
along hoeing vegetables.
The plumbers repaired the faucets in
McBride Hall last Monday.
The farm boys and other helpers are
busy this week hauling hay. '
The painter boys are now painting the
roofs of the bachelors' new cottage.
This week Joaquin Meadows had his
first experiance in making an axle.
The cement sidewalk in front of Mr.
Campbell's cottage is being repaired
this week.
Amos Smoker and, Frank Souvigner
were assisting on the New Gymnasium
last Monday.
Martin Sampson is now finishing a
three-inch wagon. He has been work
ing at it right along.
The painters have started to paint the
new roof which was put on the employ
es' new quarters lately.
Ed Ainsworth is again working in the
plumber-shop, after assisting the painters
to white-wash the Gymnasium.
The wagon ; makers are kept busy
hese days repairing wagons for the
; irmers around Chemawa.
After doing some repair work in the
shop, the wagon makers are now
working on the heavy farm wagon.
Eugene Anderson sharpened the saw
in the woodshed on Wednesday morn
ing. Win. Bresette was his assistant.
John Peazzona, Merl Poland and
William Friedlander repaired wagon
wheels for a farmer one day last week. ,
Michel Wilson and George Williams
were hauling sand this week for the
plastering, which is being done in the
employes' new quarters.
James Minesinger is fireman on the
night shift this week, and Eugene An
derson is engineer, while, William Car
rasco is oiler.
Mr. Swain, with the help of some of
the boys, made a cement sidewalk
from the commissary to the end of the
walk leading to the electric car line.
There are several changes in the
engine room. We engineers are glad to
have a new switchboard installed. The
new switchboard adds to the appearance
of our engine room; J. J. T.
HAD A GOOD TIME
The party given in the Auditorium
Friday night to the painters, whitewash
ers and cement workers was generally
attended by those invited.
The evening was spent in the usual
way, including a few games by way of
variation.
A lunch was served later in the even
ing, in which all joined and were seem
ingly satisfied.
Among those present were Supt.
Chalcraft and Ass't. Supt. Campbell.
Miss Royer and Mrs. Smith chaperoned
the party.
