Joe Bittles went with the base ball

Frank Dan and Walter Haight are
training for the big race on the fourth of
July.
John Darnell is still hard at work

The advanced sewing room girls are
working hard to get their dresses made
for Commencement. A. W.
We are all glad to see Maggie Curl
back in school again. She has been in
the hospital for a few days. M. P.
Never until last night did anyone,
realize what a ben utiful voice John
Home had. He just did fine. V. C.
Philip Rees' mother came toChemawa
to spend the Fourth of July with her
children. We hope she will enjoy the
Fourth here. G. 0.
" On Saturday afternoon Mrs. Chalcraft
and Miss Royer surprised the members
of the Y. W. C. A. and Branch by an
enjoyable picnic. At 2:30 o'clock we
went to the gymnasium and different
ring games were: played. Late in the
afternoon a number of girls helped Mrs.
Chalcraft to get supper ready, which was
the best of all as it was spread upon the
grass. After supper we all went out for
a walk, and flowers were gathered. All
came home happy as larks singing
songs. -M. J.

The painters are hard at work on

The gardeners are going to pick cher
ries for several 'days. A. M.
The band gets out in the mornings
before breakfast to drill. Very well.

walk with Mrs. Smith to Old Chemavva.

relay lace at Salem on the 4th of July.

The boys and girls are glad the 4th of
July is so near. We all hope to have a

We all enjoyed the entertainment
on Monday evening, which was given
the pupils of the first grade. L. H.
James Palkanute who arrived recent
ly from Toppenish, Wash, is now ap
prenticed at the wagoushop. J. C. 8.
Monday morning a little bird came
in the second grade room to see what
we were doing. He came in through
the Window. J. J.
Mr. and Mrs. Fickle took, some of us
girls out for a walk Sunday, which we
enjoyed very much, and hope they will
take us again. G. B.
Sunday eVening the talks that were
givan by the four boys who attended the
conference at Long Beach were enjoyed
by all who heard them. S. B.
The 4th of July does not seem as if it
is ever coming, but keep your eyes open; !
do the best you can in making some I
money with which to have a good time
