William Morgan is very proud of his
two little owls.
Sara Brewer is getting to be quite a
good bread maker. V. 0.
Nels Charles, who was in the hospital
on account of illness, is out again.
The wagonette belonging to the school
is being taken to' pieces and all fixed.
On Tuesday morning we had cherries
from Chemawa' s orchard for breakfast.
Mr. Larsen went to Salem, Tuesday,
and Geo. Washoe acted as disciplinarian.
"We had cherries for breakfast this
morning and we all enjoyed eating them.
Louise Murray and Til lie Souvigner,
chaperoned by Miss Evans, went to
Salem last Saturday. .
Christina Victor intends to take piano
lessons from Miss Irene Campbell. We
wish Christina success.
Tillie Souvigner, Bell Dillstrom, Helen
Fairfield, and Calvin Darnell are new
members of the choir. M. L. .
Edith Milne, a former pupil of Che
ma wa, is now enjoying the spring beauty
of Metlakatla, Alaska. -A. M.
Tuesday morning, in the domestic
science department, Vernie Cliffe made
some very nice biscuits. S. B.
, Jeanette Aubrey is now the orderly at
McBride Hall, and Mrs. Theisz says
"she will be a good little orderly".
Mr. Campbell is looking after the new
sanitarium a great deal of the time.. He
is very much interested in it M.-L.
Since Esther Napoleon and Allah
Madison have been working in the do
mestic science department they have be
come expert biscuit makers; and can al
so make some delicious ginger cookers.-"

Mrs. Bewley, our mess cook, will be
missed by all her friends when she
leaves, as she expects to do next week.
The blacksmiths have been very busy,
of late preparing the farm impliments,
such as mowers and hay rakes. E. F. Mc.
The Fourth of July is near at hand
and we must all be prepared for a jolly
good time. Don't forget the fireworks.

The pupils enjoyed a mess of straw
berries Monday for supper and a mess of
cherries Wednesday morning for break

We are glad to have the Junior quar
tette return . from the beach. They
certainly did some splendid work while
at Long Beach attending the Y. M. C. A.
assembly. M. H.
We are all glad to see Alta Bewley's
smiling face back in Chemawa. She has
been attending School at Salem during
the past winter, but we are sorry to hear
she has been sick the greater part of the
time. A. W.
On Monday morning Mrs. Campbell
started to practice the operetta which
will be for commencement. Both she
and the girls will try to have the play
a successful one, but we all know noth
ing can be a failure under Mrs. Camp
bell's instruction.

John Sortor is now second baseman
for the Black Cat's baseball team.
The Chemawa baseball team went to
Albany Tuesday to play a game with
the Athletic Club. The score was 14 to
11 in favor of Albany.
