Rev. Mr. Bauer of the Salem Congrega
tional church addressed the students
Sunday evening.
As we go to press we hear that there
was a birthday party at Chemawa. We
will give our readers an account of it
next week.
Miss Lizzie Westley, daughter of Mr.
John Westley, our gardener, was mar
ried to Dr. Evans of Salem on Wednes
day of this week.
Mr.-H. L. Fickle made a flying trip to
Tacoma, where he now is. An account
of his trip, both going arid returning, is
promised for next week's issue.
Strawberriesi Did you say strawber
ries? Yes, Mr. Westley's boys picked five
tubs of the berries for one meal this
week and had to duplicate the supply
the next day in order to pick the entire
patch.
A number of girls, chaperoned by
Misses Evans and Brown, attended the-comii-encement
exercises of the college
of music of. the Willamette Uni
versity Monday night. All reported a
good time rnd enjoying the concert.
Mr. and Mrs. William Hunt and son
were Chemawa's visitors this week. M r.
Hunt is an ex Chemavvan and his wife
w a s e m ploy e d h e r e a h on s e k e e p e r . Mr.
and Mrs. Hunt lately have been em
ployed at the Siletz Boarding -School,
which has been abolished, to take effcet
July 1. They are now on their vacation
prior to their transfer to Warm Springs
as industrial teacher and seamstress.
Their friends were glad to welcome them
to Chemawa.

mawa's future ball players come out and
see us play. Teabo handles the indi
cator, and his decisions are never

Did you hear the Tigers yell? No
more 1000 for them!
The Tyees went out hunting Wednes
day evening and after being out for five
innings came back to quarters with the
Tigers' scalps in the air. The score was
1 to 0, Tyee Moses being the lucky boy
'to get away from the Tigers and get
home. .
Brevities
The strawberries on Monday evening
were excellent.
Six boys were picking strawberries
for Mr. Lansing Monday.
The harness making department can
use two or three more boys. in its p. m.
detail now.
Mr. Westley stated that his garden
boys picked five tubs of strawberries
last Monday morning.
David Penny and James Benjamin
are out of the hospital and are working
on the industrial detail.
