. Harry Queachpal ma is teaching arith
imetic in the sixth normal this week.
The seniors are very proud of their
iclass pins which they received Tuesda
; The sixth grade Normal have an excel
lent arithmetic teacher in Harry Queach
palma. Mrs. Campbell says, we will begin
practicing music for commencement as
j?oon as examination is over.
The senior grade have a beautiful bed
of geraniums around t the fountain in
front of the academic building.
; The Junior Class is very anxious to
have the final test, to see whether they
ivill pass to the Senior Class or not.
The seventh and eighth grades' flower
gardens are getting along nicely and we
hope to ha ve some beautiful Mowers soon.
The diffei ent class rooms are all in
terested in the flower beds which they
have planted around the school building.
The line order in the school building
is spoken of by every one. 'J he boys
and girls seem to enjoy the good order
and the eflicers deserve credit for their
efficiency.
It was announced Monday morning
that the final tests would all be given
during the first week in June. Some of
the pupils who have been absent will
have to study hard.
Katie Brewer demonstrated coffee mak
ing in the Domestic Science Department
Tuesday afternoon. It was a very
interesting subject. Belle Dillstrom also
demonstrated. Her subject was "Tea
Ma sing. ,J These demonstrations are a
great help to the girls.
There is a pretty bunch of Colifornia
poppies in the 8th grade school room. We
are always pleased to have flowers in our
school rooms, for when we are discouraged
we can take a look at them and think
how long it took. Mother. Nature to grow
such pretty flowers. A. M.
The teachers for the shth normal this
week and next are Joseph Lane, Harry
Queachpalma, Katie Brewer and Belle
Dillstrom. The fifth normal teachers
are Alex Cajete, John McCush, Joe Dill
strom and Albert Garry. The reports
coming from the pupils of these classes
are pleasing.

Hop Scotch is all the go with the
small boys these days.
The farmers are now busy hauling
gravel to the new "gym."
The geraniums looked very pretty' on
the reading desk and piano in chapel on
Sunday.
Mr, Bowen and his boys have been
busy this week improving the northern
end of the grounds.
We are looking forwad to an enter
tainment to be giving by Miss Dohse
and her pupils in the near future.
Mr. Herbert J. Campbell has returned
to Spokane, having fully recovered from
the effects of an operation for appendicitis.
Boys, keep your shoes blackened;
brush your clothes and your hats. A
slouchy looking boy is no credit to any
school.
The Atlantic fleet -passed Newport
Ore., Wednesday morning en route to
Seattle. This gave the people of Oregon
a chance to see it.
