EXCELSIOR ENTERTAINMENT,
The members of the Excelsior Liter
ar v Society gave an entertainment in the .
assembly hall last Saturday evening,
The hall was somewhat crowded, as
quite a number of people from Salem
were invited to come out and see the en
tertainment. Several specialties were given before
the play commenced. The play, "Jum
bo Jum-;'' was quite a success. Henry
Dillstrom acted as Junibo and did all he
was told and nothing else. The orchestra
furnished good music between5 scenes
and also gave the opening selection.
Programs were printed and distributed;
about the room, but on account of the
absence of one of the singers in.the duette
and quartet the.program vvas not deliver-
ed e;xactly as was printed... .

the school to give -a reception of-some
kind in disbanding last Friday, theSth

gave a party, having invited their friends
andv also the Mandolin Club, Shortly
after the young people assembled a short
program was rendered as follows:

and Addie Cameron. This ended the
program for the opening of the recep
tion and the rest of the time the invited
friends and members devoted themselves
to games.of 'various kind&. Some played
the organ, in which Antoirje Francis
seemed to be the leader, . We could hear
vocalists singing in different parts of the
hall. The eatables served were as
cakes and ice cream. After the luncheon
we were obliged to leave for our quarters,
as the hour was growing late.
