All the girls said that they enjoyed

learning an Indian song from Martha

We are learning how to. , sing. "My
Country 'tis of Thee," in the second
grade. J. H.
Lena Ashue is doing nicely on her ,
mandolin. She plays some lively
pieces. M. H.
Ernest David is drawing a very pretty -butterfly
for the wall in, the third grade
school room. A. S.
The little, girls are catching bees and
keeping them in boxes. 'They-are 'very
bad to do it I think. T. H.
We are looking forward to an enter-,
tainment to-be given by the Excelsior
Literary "Society next week. A. M.
We are glad to see Clara Robinson
enter the mandolin club. She took her
first lesson Friday evening. M. M.
Stanley Pedro, the quartermaster of
Mitchell Hall, has made some improve
ments in his room. He is a very indus
trious boy.
Mary Gregory received a very nice
letter from her cousin which contained
a nice picture that pleases her very
much. E. M.
The third grade is learning the song,
"The Star Spangled Banner," and after
we sing, we ail give the first yell,, which
makes it very nice.
Laura Wilson is practicing on her ban
jo. We hope to see her join the string
instrument club as she plays quite well
for a beginner. E. N.
The eighth grade planted their flower
beds yesterday and we hope that the
seeds are good. Some of the seeds were
planted two weeks ago and , are not up
vet. M. S.
Maggie Jerry, Hazel Butler and Lena
Ashue gave us some very nice music on
their instruments Sunday' afternoon.
Their music vvas enjoyed by their friends
who were present. E. N.
, I received a letter from my friend,
Ethel Coburn;in DairyJ Ore., in which
she says she hopes to be back -at Chema
wa in the near future. She is going to
school and she is in the 7th grade. All
her friends -wish her success. C. T. R.
