The carpenters are working hard on
the gymnasium. They are looking for

The farmers have been busy for a few
days assisting the Industrial detail in
Improving the looks of the grounds
around the new gym. J. B.
Harry Jones, an afternoon plumber,
b v is getting to be j quite a hand
at arch-making. The first arch made
has been called Plumbers' Arch. F. B.
Mr. Smith and the plumbers did an
excellent job erecting the iron arch near
the front entrance to the grounds for an
arc light. A difficult and accurate job
at pipe bending was necessary to accom
plish this work, but the plumbers were
equal to the task.

MANDOLIN CLUB CONCERT.
Chemawa was agreeably surprised by
the young ladies M andolin Club Mon
day evening at their concert in the school
chapel. The program opened with a
stirring march, followed by selections
embracing popular song hits from various
well-known musical comedies, together
with marches and concert waltzes, also
a piano duet by Esther Napcleon and
Margaret Lowry. The program lasted
an hour, during the entire time holding
the attention and interest of the audience.
.Having had only three months' tuition
in ensemble work under their able in
structor, Mr. Turney, the girls played
well and showed excellent training.
The personnel of the club is as follows:
Violins, Martha LeClair, Addie Cameron
and. Ida Johnson; mandolins. Maud
Lowry and Emma Shepard; guitars,
Esther Napoleon and Christina Lane.
