Eugene Thursday to attend the State
Convention there.
The girls of the junior class invited
Mrs. Cloutier and her mother to supper
Thursday evening of last week.
George Welfeldt, of Portland, was a
visitor at the school on Sunday. His
friends were glad to see him. H.D.
Miss Steponeck is very proud ' of the

tains for the large hoys last week in fine
shape.

Thos. K. Campbell of the Railroad
Commission of Oregon for a copy of the
First Annual Report of the Commission.
During; Mr. Chalcraft's trip last week
to bring a party of children to school, he
met Robert Davis, class '07, in Seattle
where he is working at his trade, paint
ing and paper-hanging. . While the
painting season Mi as not fully begun,
Robert is doing constant 'work. At
present he is finishing up a piece of
construction work.
HONOR THE TEACHER
Mrs. S. C. Cloutier, who of recent
years has been principal teacher in the
Chemawa school, but who has been
teaching here for 12 years, recently
accepted a position tn the Forestry
Service and took her departure Tuesday
for Heppner, Oregon, where she will be
located. She has been popular with both
employes and students and in recognition
of what she had done for them the senior
class gave a reception in her honor Sat
urday evening. The reception was held
in McBride Hall and a large number of
the invited employes attended. A very
pleasant evening was passed. There
was a program of a literary and musical
character after which tempting refresh
ments were served. The evening was
memorable to all.
, Monday evening at The Cottage, Supt.
and Mrs. Chalcraft gave a reception to
Mrs. Cloutier, to which all of the em
ployes and many others were invited.
A more really enjoyable evening is
seldom passed. There was no restraint,
everyone seeming at hi or her ease.
Delicious refreshments were served at a
seasonable hour and all departed wishing
Mrs. Cloutier good luck and happiness
in her new field, and voting Supt. and
Mrs. Chalcraft ideal as host and hos
tess. : '
