June 29 to July 3,
The coming Indian Teachers' Institute
promises "to eclipse al) previous meetings,
and a Jarge attendance is expected. ;
It seems quite appropiate that this
congress should be held in Cleveland, the
home city of the Secretary of the Interior,
Honorable James Rudolph Garfield
under whose authority such meetings are ;
conducted. All teachers and employes,
however, come under the jurisdiction : of
Honorable Francis E. Leupp, Com
missioner of Indian affairs, who, for the
past twenty, years, has niacin a close
study of the Indian. ; v,;.
The program is to be exceptionally
interesting and instructive.. In addition
to demonstration lessons ' with classes of
Indian children, addresses will be made
by prominent speakers and educators;
among the latter rT)r. Draper Com
missioner of Education :for the State of
New York, whose subject will be ''Good
Citizenship and Industrial Training.'
Opportunity will be afforded for Indian
workers, in their various branches, to
hold special meetings. -
An attractive; feature of this meeting
will be the Indian Exhibit from James
town Exposition, comprising specimens
of classroom papers and work don e by
boys and girls in industrial and domes
tic departments. There will also be
specimens of pupils' handwork in
blanket-weaving, basketryV pottery,

Cleveland accessible by both rail and
water, offers unusual transportation in
ducements. It is expected that special
rail road ?antl boat rates of one fare for
the round trip, with stop-over privileges
will be obtainable. ?
