THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN We are all glad to see Frank Cox in school again. The industrial boys are now working on the lawns. We all enjoyed the band concert Sun day afternoon. We are all enjoying this beautiful spring weather. Mr. Campbell gave us a very interest ing lecture Monday night. William Morgan had a fine time with the little bear Sunday. Miss Brown went to town last week and got some flower seeds for the sewing room garden. Everybody enjoyed the music Mr. Hatt gave with his phonograph last Sunday evening. Miss Campbell is teaching the second grade this week and the pupils all like her very well. Vernie Cliffe says she sees a great many changes in Chemawa since she was here four years ago. Edward McClellan was working in the new hospital Monday morning and made the floor shine like glass. Mrs. Bewley's sister came from Port land one day last week. She is visiting her sister, whom she was glad to see. Edward Stensgar is seen starting for the lower farm with his team before the others aie through with their break fast. Mrs. Garrett took Lizzie Beaver and Addie Cameron for a long walk Sunday afternoon and they reported having had a very pleasant time. Emily Moss is now working in the dining hall. Alice McPherson is now working in the dining hall. Haynes Bateman is now first sergeant of A company. . Adalene Lott made a nice doll dress Monday afternoon. Addie Cameron is improving very rapidly on her violin. Myrtle Wilson is a good little worker and the girls are all proud of her. Erma Pollock is working in the laun dry and likes her work. We all enjoyed the pretty pieces Mr. Turney played on his violin Monday night. Lona John is working very hard in school. She wants to make the fifth grade. ' Mary Loftus is working 'in the laundry and she likes her work very much. Hazel Picard made some fine biscuits in the domestic science department last Monday. Mrs. Garrett, who has been visiting Chemawa, left for, her home Wednesday morning. Mrs. Tucker and family are now stay ing here at Chemawa and we hope they , will like it. Miss Hazel Picard made some very nice biscuits in the domestic science last Monday. The girls who went out walking with Miss Brown last Sunday enjoyed them selves very much. Edward Williams, one of Mr. Westley's teamsters, helped level the ground around the new hospital on Tuesday morning and did extra good work on it.
