James' Evans That Chemawa students are: proud of their school was proved on the anniver sary of her birth, Tuesday evening. The students gave ample proof of their loy alty, sincerity of purpose, and appre ciation of the school. This is gratifying to those who are laboring in their behalf. Chemawa is now entering the 99th year of her existence. Oaks grow from acorns and little beginnings have big endings. This certainly is true regard ing this great institution. Chemawa has grown strong and mighty in her educational and industrial life. In rearing and educating Indian boys and girls she ha proved her worth and can point with pride to many great achieve ments. Brevities We had a good singing lesson on Mon day night. We have had the rinest halibut for two weeks, served on Friday. People who don't like fish could eat that, Elma Eades is now working in tlit dining hall. Mrs. Brewer and family returned to Chemawa Monday morning. Miss Royer gave the third grade pupils a good lesson on growing plants, The nurse thinks that they will move over to the new hospital next week. Clara Robinson did some fine hem stitching on curtains for Miss Brown last week. Miss Brown is very! proud oi her curtains. Miss. Royer took her morning grade out to the woods Monday morning and they had a fine time out there, too, get ting Oregon grape and ferns. I am going to build houses when I get back in Montana. I like my school and work very well. The sun rises in the East. I used, to ride wild horses when I was in Montana. NESIKA CLUB PARTY Last Friday evening the Nesika Club gave their party in the Auditorium, It was the object of the club to give the best party of the season. The Auditorium was well decorated with evergreens, Nesika pictures, pen nants and other beautiful designs in Nesika colors. Table games were played until it was time for supper. It is safe to say that nearly all enjoy ed the party as well as the refreshments, The eatables to be had were sandwiches, cake, oranges, bananas, ice cream, cocoa, candies and nuts. Supper being over at a very late hour, it was necessary to hurry home. The Nesika Club is apt to be heard from again, but not as giving a party.
