pretty good tailor.
We are glad to see Eva Simmons
back to school again.
Ask Myrtle Berner what she means
by, "It's all off with us."
Wiiliam Fisher is in the sixth grade.
He likes his teacher well.
Russel White Bear is training for the
long distance run nowadays.
DavidHigh Penny is now working
for Mr. Cox in the butcher shop.
Leon Reinkin made a pretty souvenir
cap in the tailor shop last Monday.
The fifth grade girls take much in
terest in their domestic science class.
Kdward McClellan is a good hand at
sorting bolts in the blacksmith shop.
We are all pleased with the fine
weather we are having at the present
time.
Harriet Dick is still working in the
sewingjoom, and she is getting , along
nicely. .
A new supply of coal for the school
came recently and is being hauled to
the coal shed.
Miss Troutman says Louise Blodgett
is one of the best, brightest bj hies in
the small girls' home.
Thomas Andrews and William Bres
sette are experts in singing Indian songs.
Who said Thomas and William can't
sing?
Peter Casey was visiting the school
last week for a few days. He is a mem
ber of the class of '07.
William Burke is beginning to learn
a tenor saxophone. tf,He says he is going
to be an expert player.
Eva Simmons, who has just returned
to Chemawa from her short vacation, is
now working in the sewing room,
Clara, Emma, Wallace and Willie
Wilson returned to school last Monday
morning from McCloud, California.
The new hospital is completed and
the hospital force are moving things
over there, so it will soon be occupied.
Thomas Holden and Edward McClel
lan are hard at work in the wagon shop
making a small wagon for Eddie Mann.
Messrs. Chalcraft and Larson, with
several boys, went to Tacoma, Washing
ton, and attended the funeral of D. E.
Brewer.
We are all glad to see Thomas Powers
back in school again after his absence of
a few weeks visiting his parents in Cal
ifornia. The Chemawa basketball team de
feated theWoodburn team by a score of
22 to 12 last Saturday evening on our
own floor.
Moses Alvarado is studying hard in
the sixth grade. ' He says he is going
to try to make the seventh grade before
school lets out.
Mr. Bowen and his force of boys
made a cinder path from the north side
of the Large Boys' Home to the north
side of the plumber shop.
Monday morning the pupils of the
senior class were honored by a visit from
Ghemawa's mascot, "Spot," who came
in and made himself at home by the
radiator.
