William Watkins is doing fine in his
studies.
Dora Gray visited Chemawa last
Tuesday. '
The big pump in the deep well is run
ning again.
Albert Scott is studying hard to make
the seventh grade.
The tailors' basketball team is going
to have new suits.
We had some fine music in the chapel
last Monday night.
We are glad to have Eva Simmons
back in school again.
The blacksmith bovs are verv busy
at work sorting bolts.
Mrs. Theisz has a little stove in her
room to keep her warm.
We are promised another phonograph
concert in the near future.
Mike Telkia is doing fine for a new
comer, in the sixth grade.
The plumbers hope that Joe Lane will
soon be out of the hospital.
Mrs. Campbell is reading ''Black
Beauty" to the seventh grade. "
The pupils of the Junior class are glad
that their examination is over.
The eighth grade is happy because
they have got some new books.
Dean Walker is now working in the
dairy. He says he likes his work.
The Senior Class is now working in
measurement of solids in arithmetic.
Sallie. Boswell is. working in the
dining hall and her work is done neatly.
The Seniors held a class meeting la&t
Monday morning and elected officers.
We have a new 8-horse power engine
in the power house to run the blower.
Lillie Burns is working in Miss Skip
ton's sewing room and likes her work.!
The System Bible- Clas;3 had a very
interesting meeting last Sunday evening.
The laundry girls will not get through
this week on account of having no steam.
Mr. .Cooper entertained the pupils
with his graphophone last Monday even
ing. There is a little new engine in the
power house, which was put in last Sat
urday. Mrs. Theisz has a nice oil stove which
2an be used when the radiators refuse
to work.
Edward Williams is getting to be a
good tree pruner although. he just start
ed in this year.
Grace Beaver is working in the
laundrv " this week and she does Her
work very neatly.
Miss Alene Thompson, of Salem, was
Miss Campbell's guest on Tuesday and
Wednesday of this week;
We are ali glad to hear that Clara
Wilson, her two sisters and brothers will
soon return to Chemawa.
Caroline Wright made rpies in the
domestic science room yesterday. All
report them as being excellent.
Dora Aubrey, who has attended school
at Haskell Institute, is now here and
she brought Maggie Goss with her.
A friend received a letter from Martha
Miller, an ex-pupil of Chemawa, giving
information of her recent marriage to
Buff Civil. '
