Alex Moran got stuck in the foot with
a pitch fork.
Mr Bewley resigned his position as
chief engineer.
Laura Wilson, who is training to he
a nurse, has been sick.
The new hospital is finished and al
most ready for use.
John Sm ikes is a new janitor at the
school building this month.
The Seniors and Juniors are having
their quarterly examinations.
We are glad to see Myrtle Berner who
recently returned to attend school.
We are glad to have two more names
added to the roll in the tailor shop.
Last Sunday evening quite a number
of our boys attended a lecture in Salem.
The girls and boys are interested in
their school studies in1 the Third Grade.
The gardeners are busy pruningprune
trees across the track from the apple
orchard.
Margaret Lowry will stand highest in
her class if she keeps on as she began in
her examination.
Mr. 'Fickle, the new teacher for the
fifth and sixth grades, began teaching
Monday,. January 6th.
Arthur Bell is now working in the
engineer department, after being a school
janitor for some time.
The boys that go to Willamette Uni
versity from here will play basketball
with the boys of this school.
We expect to see a good football
game tomorrow afternoon between the
blacksmiths and engineers. .
Mr. Henry Larsen, is - visiting his
brother, Mr. Chas. Larsen, and his
friends in the school this week.
The holidays are over and we are back
at work again. Let our resolutions that
we made on New Years be carried out.
We are very sorry to hear that
William Morgan is in the hospital and
we hope he will soon be in school again.
Miss. Irene Campbell had an accident
last week. She fell and broke her collar
bone. We all hope she will soon be well
again.
The engineers are cleaning up the
power house and the plumber shop this
week. They are putting things in first
class order.
Mr Mann gave very nice lecture
Monday night. Many of the boys said
that they learned many things about
horses' feet.
Mr. Mann, our blacksmith, gave an
interesting lecture in the school chapel
last Monday evening. His subject was,
"Horseshoeing.''
The blacksmiths' football team is out
practicing morning and evening for. the
big game with the engineering depart ,
ment tomorrow.
One of the little girls at the Small
Girls1 ; Home was asked if she was ont
of the boy's heice and she turned around
and said, "No,, he is my uncle."
We girls are all glad to see Myrtli
Berner back to school again. She has
such a sweet disposition and, therefore
is a great favorite. among the girls.

promoted to the eighth grade last Mon
day. Harry made 95 at the quarterli
.examination and John Upham 96.
