    THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN
CHEMAWA VS. SPOKANE A. C.
SCORE 11 TO 5
By defeating the Spokane Athletic
Club football team Saturday, our boys
sustained their record of never having
lost a game on the home grounds.
Although outweighed by from 10 to 15
pounds to the man, the redskins put up
one' of their best games of the season.
The first touchdown was made after 10
minutes of play by straight line-bucking,
Saunders carrying the ball over the line
and kicking goal. The half ended 6 to 0
in the Indians' favor.
The clubmen scored in the second half
in about a half a minute of play. Spo
kane kicked off and Saunders caught the
ball and returned it with a punt. Mal
comson of Spokane caught the ball and
by a brilliant run of over 60 yards put
the ball back of the goal line. This was
the most sensational play of the game
and Malcomson was warmly applauded.
The try at goal failed and the score was
6 to 5 in the Indians favor.
Our boys then repeated their tactics of
the first half and soon had the oval push
ed over for another touchdown. White
bear tried at the goal but failed. Final
score, 11 to 5.
Rube Saunders played a great game.
When he hit the line something had to
give way. He was well supported by
Smith, left guard; Whitebear, left end
and McCully, center, who were in every
scrimmage.
Fotheringham of Spokane was knock
ed out about eight minutes before the
end of the game and was replaced by
McKinnen, who played a good game.
The line up was:
