'We' all had a good time Christmas.
We all had a good time New Year's
eve. '
Miss Skipton spent her "Happy New
Year'1 in Portland.
The roses are still blooming in this
part of the country.
Miss Iva Cox is visiting her parents
during the holidays.
The hospital girls are anxious to move
into the new hospital.
The painters have been oiling the floor
iu the mess dining room.
Be sure and keep your New Year's
resolutions that you made.
We are glad to know that Mrs. Swartz's
children are all well again.
The Junior class will begin their quar
terly examination Monday.
We are all glad to see such fine
weather at the present time.
The blacksmiths are busy fixing fau
cets in the small girls' home.
We hope Alex Moran will soon be in
the third grade. Study hard Alex.
We are glad to see Mrs. Bewley well
and back in the mess kitchen again.
We all enjoyed our Christmas vaca
tion and are ready for a good new start.
The members of the mandolin club
are glad to. have Ida Johnson join them.
Allah Madison is teaching Miss
Skipton and Alice Chalcraft to do bead
work.
Mr. Blodgett and a force of boys are
repairing the road back of the power
house. :
Caroline Wright made;a very pretty
lace handkerchief last week for one of
her friends. , . .
We are all glad to see Orin French
back at school : again. : He is ; in -the
eight grade. : . : : ;- vr:;'
The entertainment given by the
Nesika Club was enjoyed by all who
were present. ; ; . .
We were glad that school has com
menced again so that we can get to work
on our lessons. !
Beginning ivith' the new year,' we
should all make good resolutions and
carry them out.
Mi". Smith and a force of boys have,
been busy for the past week putting, up
more outside lights.
George Home, who has been working
in the blacksmith shop for a short time,
is progressing nicely.
Martha LeClair is taking great inter
est in her, violin lessons since they
; have a new instructor.
Gabriel Peter and Abraham Bredell
are the most polite Boys of the afternoon
division of the third grade.
I am glad that I am in Oregon where
there is no snow, for if I was in Wash
ington T would freeze to death.
We are all glad to welcome the four
new boys and one girl that came into
the third grade Friday morning.
We hear that Miss Johnston has taken
a claim in New Mexico, where she ds
'preparing to make her future home.
Win, Bressette is now working in the
powerhouse. He is fireman at night
and the coal passer is Thomas Andrews.
Ida Johnson has joined the String
Instruments Club; she will play the.
violin. Miss Brown has also joined.
