toes. The farmers will soon be through seed-,
ing down by the creek.
Nellie Boswell says that she likes to
work for Mrs. Campbell.
Mr. James Smith returned fiom Ta
coma where he went on business.
The farmers, and gardeners will
have their party on Thursday night.
All the ,bovs and girls will be glad
when they commence to make gardens.
The flowers are now in bloom and the
air smells sweet with their fragrance.
Mrs. Rosenberger made Lizzie Dohl
a very pretty white dress. Lizzie is very
proud of it.
Mr. Frank Ashley of St. Ignatius,. Mon
tana, has been here visiting his children

A man from Salem came to talk to the
Chemawa people on Sunday evening
and made a very interesting lecture.
I like the school iilrignt over here
even it is my first day. I am from Cali
fornia. I am here now and I was glad to
get here and I will learn something.

nice time going out skating nearly every

Mr. Olney of Toppenish, Washington,
was visiting his children who are pupils
of this school the latter part of this week:
After a short stay he left for ids home

Bessie Boles is back to her work after
suffering several days with a 'sprained
arm.
Our baseball team is fast rounding in
to shape as proved in the game iast Sat
urday. That showed marked improve
ment. Genevieve IWadley is now clerking at
the Chicago Store in Salem, going and re
turing each day on the car.
We all notice that the flowers are be
ginning to bloom now 1 know we will all
be happier later on if the world don't
come to an end as they said it would.
Miss Miller, went to her farm in
Washington, to prepare for the su nmer.
Miss G. lirewer is the teacher of the
third grade during the absence of Miss
Miller.
' The deer park back of the small girls
home has been finished and the deer
will be put in as soon as grass grows.
The park will be very interesting to our
visitors.
The baseball boys piayed a game
Saturday afternoon. 1 he first and second
teams played together. The first team
won. A few of the girls attended
the game. We all ei. joyed the game.
Thomas Yailup is learning right along
on his trombone on which he lias been
practicing not very long. And he is
also piacticingon his mandolin. .Thomas
will be a good musician when he will
learn iq play both of his instruments.
In the i'. M. C. A. outing on Easter
Eve will be a special contest, a fifty-yard
dash between Peter Seltice and Webster
Hudson which will be the feature of the
day. Peter eitice will represent the vic
torious "Reds ' of 1906 and Webster ud
son the "Blues.'
