Societies
Hiawatha
The Hiawatha Club held its usual
meeting in school-room Nc. 7. After
roll-call, President Davis called for the
usual routine of business which took up
most of the time allowed. Among the
most imporant steps taken towards the
welfare of the Club, was the, reading of
the Constitution and By-laws. These
were carefully questioned by several of
the most prominent members. The
following letter received from a former
member was read: ''I was pleased to
read in the Chemawa American that the
Hiawatha Club was re-organized. Altho
I am away from school and cannot be
at your meetings, I congratulate Presi
dent Davis and Vice-President McCully
and all the members belonging to the
Club. I am an old member and school
mate. J. 0. Bell." We the members of
the Hiawatha Club are pleased to kno'w
that one of our old members still takes
an interest in the club wThich goes to
show that it is well organized. The
program for the next meeting is to be
