Dora Gray and Tillie Souvigner were
visitors to Salem last Wednesday.
Mr. Barrett who has several children
attending school here is making quite a
visit.
The sewing room girls are now mak
ing shirtwaists for the McBride Hall
girls.
Miss Johnston and Miss Luedke were
visitors in the sewing room Wednesday
morning.
Mr. Gilbert Carraher of British Col
umbia spent a few days at Chemawa
visiting friends.
Mrs. Olney arrived here a few days
ago with two girls and one boy, who will
enter as students.
Nine girls attended the Gordon min
dtrels last Tuesday night and report hav
ing had a fine time.
Esther Napoleon who is taking lessons
from Gertrude Brewer is rapidly im
proving on the piano.
Mr. and Mrs. Teabo accompained by
Miss Jone? attended the Gordon Min
Ptrel, last Tuesday night.
Thomas Mullen who ha' been very
sick is now improving, and is expected
to be up and around soon.
The girls were disappointed because
they could not witness the stubbornly
contest, game between " the Hiawatha
and Excelsicrs.
Cyril Morpette who has been working
in Portland the last few months is
ppinding the Holidays with Mr. and
Mrs. Farrow.

I hope we will have a good time when
Xmas comes.
"'Christmas is coming and Santa Claus
too," slow but sure.
The boys are clearing a calf lot behind
the new barn, and are doing nicely.
Did you hear Mr. Chalcraft congratu
late the school janitors last Sunday for
their fine work?
McBride Hall girls spend their spare
time making Christmas presents and
their new dresses.
Monday night JAr. Cooper and his
dairy boys gave' the pupils an interesting
talk about dairying.
To those. that are not in school. If you
are coming you had better come at once
for things are rushing just now and we
are going to keep this way the year a
round. Here is a problem for mathematicians.
Only Wednesday morning there were
forty five girls in the sewing room, which
is a. double detail, they done double talk
ing, and how much work?
On Friday the eighth grade had their
first practical lesson in cooking. Miss
Josie Peone and Peter Casey put the in
gredients for molasses together, while
Robert Davis did the baking. Mrs. Thiez
sampled them and wished she had more.
The Christmas spirit animates the boys
and girls these day?. One way to re
animate the boys would be to let them
go to town and buy presents for the gins
so they will be reanimated; it will also
reanimate the boys to have the pleasure
of animating the girls by buying presents
for them.
