Alice Bittles is working for Mrs. Spink
now.
Nellie Shepard made her sister Aggie
a neat spring dress.
From every shop and department the
boys are now out grubbing stumps.
Jessie LaBreche is taking charge of the
mending room during Mrs; O'Here's ab
sence. We are all glad to see Lizzie Orcutt
back to McBride Hall again after her
illness.
Henry Olson is doing some fine work
for Mrs. Chalcraft. He is a very good
worker.
Jessie La Breche is making two dresses
for Amanda Lilligreen and Alice Mc
Pherson. Margery Gray is working in the sew
ing room. Margery is getting to be a
good dress maker.
Clarinda Blodgett favored her many
friends by singing one of the latest songs
Thursday morning.
May Mercier is working in the sewing
room this week. She is very neat and
careful about her work.
When you go to your matrons for any
thing, don't forget to say, "Thank you,"
for what they gave you.
Viola Ferris is now working at the
laundry and is doing fine for the short
time she has worked there.
Last Thursday afternoon the wagons
in the paint shop were treated with a
speech by Eugene Williams.
Bessie Eannens is going to be a fine
seamstress some day if she is always as
faithful as she has been the past week.
John Bouchard is doing good work
setting out strawberry plants. He will
soon be the head gardener of the school.
Richard Long who has been attending
school at the Salem Business College,
went home to California, last Wednesday
morning.
LOST A beautiful bead belt between
the cemetery and the main entrance on
the track. Finder will please apply to
Dora Gray.
HaUie Mann is busy this week on nee
dle work on an apron for her sister, Nora.
It's going to be real pretty when sli:
finishes it.
Our dinner, Thursday, was an hour
late, and while waiting, a field meet was
held by the little boys of Mrs. Newcomb's
building, and was enjoyed by all who
were present.
The sewing room girls are working
hard in order to finish dresses for the
McBride Hall girls this month. They
finished eighteen gingham dresses last
week, besides twenty-thiee white skirts,
thirty-eight sheets and the regular mend
ing work.
The Y. M. C. A. is still improving its
good work. The meeting on last Wed
nesday was devoted to prayer. 1t"s
bright work will be held every month.
The leaders were: Robert Davis, Eug
Williams, Albert Garry, and Webster
Hudson, and some other members fol
lowed. After this we will have some of
the members talk to the association on
some helpful subject. There were
several new members joined. BefoU'
adjournment, the meeting was devoted
to business. The members will have
a field meet again among themselves i"
the near future before the public.
