They are painting the new part of the

All the blacksmith boys were sorry to
,ee Mr. Melson leave.
The sewing room girls expect to go for
a picnic next week.
The sixth grade are glad to see Peter
Sdtice back in school again.
Justina Jack is one of the best house
keepers in McBride Hall.
Mr. Cooper and his boys have been
over in Polk Co. after some trees.
Geo. Howard and Frank L'Heureux
arc through planting the carrots.
Do you notice the change in the woods?
They are beginning to get green again.
The boys are bus' hauling plaster
from the middle-sized-boys' building.
Mr. Westloy, and his boys are pretty
busy' plowing and getting the garden
ready.
The girls' basket ball team Went-up to
Salem last Saturday to have their picture
taken.
John Benson led the Y. M. C. A. meet
ing last , ednesday. His subject was,
"Inliuence.-'
The girls of McBride Hall are all sor
ry to have their matron Mis. Theisz go
"way but they all hope that she will have
a pleasant time.

We are anxious to get out on our
school gardens, and learn how to plant,
hoe and weed.
Annie Evans is a very nice drsssmaker
and will soon be in the first class of .
dressmaking.
Our base-ball team is hard at practice
on their nice smooth ground in front of
the two new barns.
Sallie Boswell had a very pleasant trip
to Salem Wednesday afternoon with Mrs.
Chalcraft and daughter.
The A, B, and C, companies are hard
at work drilling before breakfast and be
fore chapel in the evening.
Stella Fiester and Mary Campbell are
working at the laundry and are getting
along nicely with their work.
Mr. Cooper's lawn boys went for a pic
nic last week who report having had a
good time especially Carl Geffe.
Eugene Anderson is getting to be quite
active with his tools in butchering. We
hope he will carry his trade through.
The carpenters are busy repairing the
large boys' home, and the boys are stay
ing, for the time being, at the new barns.
Rosie Winslow has a very beautiful
dress for Easter, which she made herself,
she is one of Miss O'Here's best dress
makers. Lavina De Vault is getting to be quite
an expert in making button holes, and
hope she will continue to do as wjII, in
the .future.
Mrs. Campbell says she is proud of the
fact that the girls that speak against the
Excelsior's are from her grade. Not be
cause she thinks they'll win, but to think
they are brave enough to speak against
the eighth grade boys.
