Wo all hope that the time will soon
(Mine when we can begin to make our
school gardens.
Minnie Howard is working on the
wing detail this week and is doing
very nice work
All the hoys are up early in the morn
ing and are drilling on t he grounds till
lnvakfast is ready.
We arc quite anxious for the Nonpareil
and Excelsior debate to come off. We
wonder who will win.
Frank Souvigner is getting to be a
good fanner. He is one of the best farnii
crs in Mr. Swartz detail.
We are glad to hear that Peter Seltiee
is sitting up now, and we heme before long
he will be able to walk around.
Don't forget when you come to the
s-wing room to get anything made or
fixed to say, ''thank you," to the girls.
The boys were out in early morning
drilling. I did not like to get out of my
hed so early. I like to be out at six o'clock.
Robert Brothers is keeping the Mit
chell Hall in good condition. Credit can
be given to him of liaving the halls clean.
Neva Souvigner is the sargeant of the
second company in the small girls home
while Martha Decker is in the hosptial
.-irk.
Violet Edwards was one of the pie
makers last Saturday. It was her first
lesson in the pastry line but she did
iuite well.
Nellie DuVal is working for Mrs.
Cooper and does her work so neatly and
quietly and is learning to be;, a tine little
hoihe keeper.
Sarah llaekinan is on the mending
detail this week and after only a few
lessons Mrs. Coopar says she cm darn
very neat ly.
Mr. J. J. Galbreath, of Browning,
Montana, came down Thursday on a
visit to bis sisters, Anna and Lizzie.
Mrs. M. P. Collins left for her home in
Siletz, Monday morning. She spent n
pleasant time here and we hope that she
will pay us another visit again.
The Y. M. C. A. held an interesting
meeting in their usual place last Wed
nesday evening. We had been carrying
on the work saccessfully, and since we
had big delegation sent to the Oregon
Idaho convention held at Portland the
officers learned now of association work
in the out side world. Addresses being
made by the active delegates, and we
were enjoyed listening to them. One of
the interesting addresses being made by
Robert Davis, our Vice-President. Davis
was acting as chairman for our delegates
while at Portland and he received great
praise. As the time was nearing late the
meeting was devoted to business in n -gard
to the events we will have on East
er Eve. Before the delegates went to
Portland, the captains being appointed.
The captains are, John Benson and
Thomas McCully. They also selected
colors for their men; Benson's is Blue,
and McCully red.
Superintendent Reel left for the east
yesterday, after having been quarantind
for some length of time, and upon the
advice of the physicians having taken
antitoxin, with acted unfavorably, giving
her 'blood poisoning and rheumatism.
She hopes soon to return and finish her
work in this section of the country. .
