School again!
Farewell to Santa Claus till next De
cember. Band boys like to have band practice
every night.
Odessa Dodson is working in the hos
pital Srug room. :
John Smith is working in the black-
smith shop again.
We are all glad tr start school again
after the holidays.
Floyd Hayden returned to school
again after a short visit home.
The dairy boys are anxiously waiting
for the new barn to be finished.
We all hope that the street car lino
will reach Chemawa before next month
Philip Sooksoit is getting to be quite'
an expert at throwing the basket-ball.
Mr. Donald Campbell is paying Che
mawa a visit, ;.nd we are all glad to see
him.
The Sixth and Seventh grade pupils
are having a test in their studies at.
present.
Mabel McKay got so many presents
that she could not carry tlie.n to the
McBride Hall. '
The Fifth A class are nearly thrpugh
-with their examination of which they
are very glad.':
Christmas and New Year were enjoyed
very much by all the pupils', and 'espe
cially the tree which was decorated beau
tifully, and we ad had a good time clu ing
the holidays.
William Watkins and Lee Evans are
the new apprentices of the wagon mak
ing department.
Harry and Paul Queachpalma will
sorely make fine masicians. They are
always practicing.
The first team basketball girls pre
sented their manager a pair of gold cuff
buttons on Christmas eve.
Mr. Campbell tried to show the printer
boys how to throw basketball, last Mon
day evening before the game began.
John Logsden, of Grande Ronde, Ore
gon, arrived this morning to visit his
son, Carl. He visited a,U the shops.
Donald Campbell is not very big, but
"O! my" it didn't take him long to call
the basketball game off Monday evening.
Eflie Olafson left Monday evening for
her home in Alaska. We were sorry to
see Effie go as she was one of Mrs. Camp
bell's brightest pupils.
The Eighth Grade has just finished
their examination and are. now writing
compositions. Their compositions are
always welcome for publication in the
Chemawa American.
Miss O'Here is glad .to have some of
her old dress makers back into the sew
ing room again, when the detail changes..
. The Yakima basket ball team and the
Printers had a game last Monday even
ing which was very enjoyable to the
pupils who attented to it. The score was
fifteen to fourteen in fa vor of the Yakima
