Foot-Ball Boys Banquet.
One of the most enjoyable events of the
season was the annual banquet given under
the auspices of th). Chen.awa foot-ball team
in the gymnasium last Thursday evening.
The guests assembled early and after a brief
address of welcome by Mr. E. D. Godwin,
manager of the team, the grand nmroh
was struck up. To the sweet; music of Mr.
Stoudenniyer's orchestra a short dunce pro
gram was pleasantly indulged in, tru:r
which all retired to the banquet .room,,
where a sumptuous feast was spread.
To one who has been entertained on simi
lar occasions by these boys, a description
of this affair, to show that a royal good
time was enjoyed, would be useless.
The following toasts were responded to,
E.D.Godwin acting as toasttnaster: Sup
pott of the Teams by the School, H. E.
Mann ; Duties of a Captain, Edward Davis;
Care of a team, Jas. Smith; History of
past Team, Silas Moon; After a few re
marks by Reuben . Saunders, Superinten
dent Potter, gave a short but interesting
address; urging the boys on to future vic
tories and in behalf of the invited guests,
thanked the boys for their kind hospitality
during the evening;.
