John Olofson came to school with a gen

Joe Caraseo isdoing good work in the
Sec ind Grade.
Wi liam Bean said it did not pay him
to run away.
Mr. Overman went to Portland Tuesday
evening on business.
John Stacey kindly volunteered to carry
meals to tlie sick boys this week.
Waller Dyke his the making of a good
sergeant for company D.
Joe Chesaw is working in a shoe shop in
Nelson, B. V. and is doing well.
Tommy Potter obtained the reward of
fered by Mrs. Cioutier, for finding her
keys.
Mrs. Hilb has ben assisting Mrs. Sher
raid in the hospital the last few days.
One of the C lemawa young men thinks,
there is but one girl, :id she lives in Che
mawa, who knows how to make good pies.
"Practise what you preach" may be
good or bad advice. It depends on what
you preach.
The Plumber Shop has at present the
largest working fjree that it ever had at
any one time.
Frank Decker is office sergeant to the Dis
ciplinarian. Frank is always to be depend
ed upon to do right whatever he under
takes. WiUie Archamhult is a number one good
hand in ca'ing for the boys wash room.
That i3 right Willie, faithfulness in small
things brings promotion to greater things.
The eighth division are learning to dis
tinguish between the pan tense of some ir
regular verbs and their paniciptes, such as
saw and seen, and did and done.
The first symptom of ambition should be
an improvement in one's work.

We are all very glad to seeE nma Cayou
out of the h jspital and going to school
again.
The girls are goin to have nice uniform
dresses this year, and they are very glad
to hive nice new dresses.
We had a fine entertainment here in
Chemawa, every bo.ly enjoyed it, it was the
best tvvr given in Clieinawa.

When I first camp, I did no' know any
thing, I did not know where to go, I did
uot know anybody but Jacob Manning,
now I like Chemawa.
We aieglad to se Sadie Dtvis out of
the hospital so she can attend tchool and
work.
Tht marching of th! boys is improving,
but there is pltnty of room yet for further
improvement.
Mr, Godwin and his boys have done
some spbndid work clearing the east field
during the past two weeks.
We regret to hear of the serious il'nesaof
Mr Cliiders, who is visiting his mo her in
Illinois, and hope that he may speedily
recover.

We are glnd to note that So'oman George
is recovering from a ba1 Cie of home

good broad smile and says be is "feeling
fine." Chemawa is sure cure fir that dis
ease, and only one in a huudred are ever
troubled with it here.
