Your attention Is respectfully called to the following program Which has been
arranged for the meeting of the Pacific Coast Indian Institute, at. Newport, Oregon, Au
gust 18-23, 1902. You are very cordially invited to be present with your friends and
assist id making this institute a grand success.
RAILROAD RATES.
Railroad rates have and are being arrange,. Some roads giving naif fares
and some one and a third fares for round trips. As soon as the Bummer schedule
is published it will be sent on application. Memtwrs of Institute should take re
ceipt from each railroad agent for their ticket over the various roads and be sure to
bring them with them to the Institute. Correspondence In regard to rates., etc.

ENTERTAINMENT.
The meetings of the Institute will he held in the large Auditorium, which has a
capacity of 2,000. Abundant facilities will be provided for the arconmindHtion of
all members of the Institute. Several o the principal hotels and seaside resorts

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE.
Certificates of attendance will hp furnished Ml the meetings, enabling employes of
Government schools to claim pay for the time necessarily consumed In going to, and
returning from, the meeting, and in attendance thereon. (8ee Supt. Circular Letter
N. 28, dated May 5, 1002.) Unless 1 bene certificates are Seenred and promptly
turned over to the Agents or Superintendent for tiansinisnlon to the Indian Office, pay
fur Lilt: lime consumed will not be allowed.
ATTRACTIONS,
We believe that no place in the United States could have been selected, which
han more natural attractions, than Newport, Oregon. It is located on the beautiful
Ynquina Bay, has an excellent, bench and in the principal summer seaside r snort of
the North Pacilio Coasf, Excellent bathing, boating, driving, wheeling, fishing,
hunting, clam hakes, sea trips, etc. etc. aft'ird amusement for all.
Among the points of interest are Foul weather Light; the Life-Saving Station;
Ynquina City; Otter Rock, the home of the sea otter; the Spouting Horn and Devil's
Cauldron, two natural wonders; South Beach; Heal Rocks, which takes its nume from
the thousands of Rea lions, which are eontinLally on the recks; tiiletz Indian Agency,
a few miles away ; etc. etc.
Agents and Superintendents are respectfully requested to bring these matter to
the notice of all employes with as little delay as possible.
