Mrs. Westfall has not been very Well'

the appearance of her class room.
Paul Hill has developed a most marvel
ous mustache in the past few days.
The harness maker boys are all anxious
to enter the new shop which is nearly com
pleted, -
Adolph Farrow and Winnie Stoddard
made a very handsome groomsman and
bridemaid.
Miss Miller ami Miss Bowman attended
the Sunday' School Convention at Kaiser
last Sunday.
William Ferris was married to Mamie
Stoddard on New Years' day and have gone
to live in Salem.

Irene Campbell attended a party at the
home of Miss Pierre of Salem during the
holidays.
Some. very handsome and beautiful pre
sents were received by pupil and employes
on Xmas.
The Estelle Reels visited the Deweys last
'week. They passed an enjoyable as well
as a very profitable evening.

Band practice every da y. At the end of
the year we wih have one of the best bands
in the st te.
Mrs. Woods has quite recovered. Her
friends are all glad to see her pleasant,
happy face again.
Peter Lucier is a. pleasant addition to
Room 5. His work is neatly done and he,
shows great interest m his studies.
You would hardly know the little bears
they are growing so fast. They will soon
be as big as Marguerette and Jeanete.
We wish tne farmers in the neighborhood
of Chemawa would keep their cows in a
pasture and not let them run the roads like
tramps.
Miss Miller took the girls out for a walk
yesterday afternoon to enjoy the sunshine
and pick the wild flowers, No place like
Oregon. .
The drls of Chemawa are doingexcellent
work in school this year. Look over the ex
amination papers and see for yourselves.

the newly married cou!e, Miss Mamie
Stoddard, arid Mr. William Ferris. The

The young ladies Literary Society con
sists of a lot of ambitious girls who are
rapidly forging ahead and are anxious to
have the best society in the school.'
, Sam Morris, from Lapwai, Idaho, is one
of the most faithful students in the school.
He ha9 come to Chemawa to learn and by
bis studious respectful habits is gaining
many friends.
Florence Phillips left for Portland
Thursday morning where fhe will take a
position as housekeeper in the home of
Col. Dunne, Collector of Internal Revenue.
The faithful members f the Reliance
Society met iu their uual room on Thurs
day evening. With the exception of the
debate the pr gram was carried out as ar
ranged, An Amekican reporter overheard Mr.
Childers tellinga friend that he danced a
real genuine cakewalk while back East.
