The E n g in eers’ Club held its re g u ­
lar m eeting Friday evening in M cClure
llall. The T ungsten lamp was dis­
cussed by P. W . Reid. He spoke brief­
ly of the advent of the lamp and of its
com petitive value in the held of illum ­
ination. R. E. Hickson gave his ex­
perience in the governm ent service of
river im provem ent in his talk on H y­
drographic Survey of the Low er Col­
um bia. S trange hire Protection was
the topic of Dr. H. IL Leonard, deal­
ing with a problem in lire insurance
which puzzled one of the insurance ex­
perts of the country, lie d em o n strat­
ed the problem before the club.
