“Chocolate cream s” was the topic for
discussion at a meeting of the senior
industrial chem istry class on Satur
day evening. Prof. O. F. Stafford
gave a more practical turn to the hith
erto theoretical consideration of the
properties of sugar, by assisting the
class in the preparation of some de-
licous fondant and coating it with a
tem pting brown covering.
About
eight pounds of candy were made.
Following the shaping of the last
brown cone, Prof. Stafford gave the
regular lecture. The fact that the can
dy was made according to strict chem
ical formula and by exact scientific
methods did not detract from its tooth
someness. A small portion of it was
filled with Ivory Soap, bits of tube
and corks for the purpose of free dis
tribution among the gullible.
