Health Insurance Coverage
for Homecare Workers
Homecare workers who meet the eligibility requirements
are eligible for fully-paid medical, dental and vision
insurance coverage. SEIU's Homecare Union Benefits
Board (HUBB) administers the program. HUBB provides a
full range of customer service assistance to homecare
workers regarding their medical insurance.
How do I qualify for
HUBB insurance?
You must work 80 hours or
more for two consecutive
months and meet a one-month
waiting period to qualify for
HUBB insurance.
Can I enroll my family
members?
Yes, you may enroll your eligible
family members at the time
you first enroll, as a result of a
status change event, or during
an open enrollment period.
How do I enroll for
HUBB insurance?
You can obtain an enrollment
form from the HUBB Office.
Complete the HUBB Medical
and Dental Enrollment Form
and send it to the HUBB Office
at SEIU Local 503, PO Box
12159, Salem, OR 97309-0159.
Your coverage will become
effective the first of the month
following receipt of your
completed enrollment form
and you have met the
qualifying criteria.
How much do I have
to pay for HUBB
insurance?
The monthly insurance premium
for eligible homecare workers
is paid for by the State of
Oregon. The cost of coverage
for family members is the
responsibility of the homecare
worker. If you qualify for a
premium subsidy through the
Family Health Insurance
Assistance Program (FHIAP),
you can receive help in paying
the cost of coverage for your
family members.
