Below is the OCR text representation for this newspapers page. It is also available as plain text as well as XML.

    2) I would initiate a program to promote more pro-active ballot initiatives. We need to
take the legislative reins and begin drafting, qualifying and passing more of our own pro
labor initiatives.
3) There needs to be more accountability to the members of this Union. Account
ability in the form of how our dues dollars are spent and the level of representation that
money allots us.
4) I am interested in seeing a Mentor Program developed. I envision this as a mem
ber leader program that would unite a seasoned, experienced leader with a newly
elected leader for a designated period of time.
5) I would strive to initiate an Intern Program. We need a program, separate from the
MOC program, that will offer people the opportunity to learn about all aspects of
organizing.
I invite you to check out my website at www.kfalls.net/~bestkfor my additional
qualifications and more details on these programs.
OPEU, SEIU 503 has always been a front runner in the labor movement in Oregon,
and now nationally and internationally as well. As an elected leader, I have always led
by example, where my actions speak AS LOUD as my words. I would embrace the
opportunity to build on the foundation that has been so concretely established by many
of our former activists and leaders. I am confident that under my leadership, we can
join with other labor unions to make the labor movement a reality, and we can be
leaders in that movement, setting the standards after which others fashion their own
organizations.
