Working together we protect services for seniors
and people with disabilities
Throughout this Legislative session, Homecare members participated
in Lobby Days, town hall meetings, rallies, letter writing, and phone
calls to urge support for services for our clients, and a training fund
for homecare workers. The threat to provider choice for clients was
pushed off. Threats to cap the number of homecare clients enrolled
in the program were defeated. SEIU members, clients, and community
coalition groups share in these victories.
6il always worried that politicians
went to Salem and forgot where
they came from. Going to town
hall meetings with other
homecare workers gave me the
chance to remind my legislators
why they are there V
