Served nearly two terms as assistant director before moving up to present office. Has served as chapter president, vice-president and tre a su re r. Has served five terms as delegate to General Council and two terms as secretary to D is tric t One PreSidents'-Council. Has been a member of OSEA since starting employment with the Board of Health seven years ago. Statement: "We are making use of only a portion of our resources. OSEA possesses powers of various sorts which we are not using. Each member must do his part to involve others. I'd like to continue this effort as your district direc to r." W IL LIA M LA CLAIR Capitol Chapter 19, Salem. Presently assistant director of District Two. Has served as chapter president, delegate to General Council and group representative. He has been a member of OSEA's Public Relations Committee, and has served as a member of District Two Nominating Committee, trea sure r of D is tric t Two Presidents' Council and is fo rm e r chairm an of the Collective Bargaining Council in the Treasury Department. He was Chapter 19's Employe of the Year in 1967. Statement: " I w ill serve with enthusiasm and provide appropriate representation." For Assistant Director Coquille Chapter 10, Coquille. Has been employed by the Highway Division for the past nine years. Has served as president of his chapter for the past two years, and one year as delegate to the General Council. He was also an alternate delegate one year. He is a-highway maintenanceman working with a bridge crew. Married, he and his wife have four children. DAVID HEN RY For Assistant Director Curry Chapter 93, Brookings. Has been employed by the Highway Division for the past eight years, and has been an active OSEA member all of that time. He has served as president, vice-president and secretary in two d iffe re n t chapters in the past six years. He has also attended General Council as a delegate and alternate delegate for the past four years. Statement: " I f elected, I'w ill work as closely as possible with the district director and w ill try to visit each chapter sometime in the coming year." For Director U of O Medical School Chapter 41, Portla.nd. Has been a member of OSEA for over 11 years. Has been employed by the U n ive rsity of Oregon Medical School for the past 15 years, five of which she has oeen treasurer for the chapter. Last year she was elected its president. Has been a delegate to OSEA's General Council five terms, and Is currently a m em ber of her chapter's Public Relations Committee. In 1969, she was District One Employe of the Year. For Assistant Director Chemeketa Chapter 64, Salem. Joined OSEA upon beginning work for the State Engineer in 1958. Has served two and one- h alf term s as chapter president, one term as vice- president and three terms as delegate to General Council. He has also served on the Ad Hoc District Two Parking Com mittee and the District Two Nominating Committee. He is assistant to the State Engineer in the Hydographics Division. M A R IE MAYNARD For Assistant Director N.W. Oregon Forestry Chapter 76, Forest Grove. Has been a member of OSEA for 12 years. During that tim e he has served his chapter as president, s e c re ta r y - tr e a s u r e r and delegate to the General Council. He has also served as vice-president and treasurer to D is tric t One Presidents' Council. Statement: " I believe OSEA can be of benefit to both state employes and the State of Oregon." Has been an OSEA member for 22 years. He is a charter member of Chapter 36. He has held various chapter offices including president, delegate and alternate delegate. He is a former director of District Four. For the past three years he has been chairman of the OTI C ollective Bargaining Council. He is employed by Oregon Technical Institute. For Assistant Director Salem Chapter 1, Salem. Has been a member of OSEA for nine years. Has served as president of his chapter two te rm s, vice-president and delegate to General Council. Employed by the Highway Division. He and his wife, Marge, have two children and two foster children. Statement: "OSEA is for all state em ployes." PAULCONNER For Director JAMES KINNS District Three For Director For Assistant Director Success Chapter 30, Oregon City. Has been employed by the Em ploym ent Division since 1962. He has worked in the d ivisio n 's Pendleton, The Dalles and Portland offices. His present position is placement supervisor and assistant manager of the Oregon City office. He has been an OSEA member since entering state service. In 1965, while working in Pendleton, he served as vice- president of Blue Mountain Chapter 94. Statement: " I have always held a keen interest .in the activities and growth of OSEA." For Director OTI Chapter 36, Klamath Falls. For Assistant Director P A U LR . WARD District Four RALPH JACKSON GEORGE M ARTIN Success Chapter 30, Portland. Incum bent. Has been a member of OSEA since 1965 when he began work for the Employment Division. He is a supervisor in the division's Industrial and Service Office in Portland. A LFR E D SMITH RICHARD YOUNG For Assistant Director Siskiyou Chapter 84, Ashland. Has served as chapter president and delegate to General Council. Presently assistant director of District Three. He has been a member of OSEA for six years, and is employed by Southern Oregon College. Statement: "Knowing w ell the im portance ana responsibility of this position, and the needs of District Three, I would like the chance to serve you in this capacity." RUSSELL BLAIR Klamath Falls Chapter 12, Klam ath F alls. Incum bent. Has been employed by the Highway Division for the past 12 years. He is a 20 year member of OSEA. Has served three years as district director, two years as chapter president and two years as a delegate to General Council. He was a member o f OSEA's Em ployment Relations Committee last year, is presently a member of its Finance Com mittee and has served on the Collective Bargaining Council in the Highway Division since its inception. Statement: " I will continue to represent District Four in the best interest of my fellow employes." Klamath Falls Chapter 12, Klam ath Falls. Incumbent. Has served as chapter president, vice-president and delegate to General Council. He was selected as Chapter 12's Employe of the Year in 1968, and later elected District Four Employe of the Year. He is employed by the Department of Forestry. Statement: "Support of OSEA is for the benefit of all state employes.
